Today I have decided that you need to have some sort of goal to achieve everything - or anything. To-do lists can have one item on them or ten. You don't have make huge magnificent goals to start with. If you have a large goal figure out the smaller parts of that goal that you would have to accomplish before you reach the end result. Not all goals will be easy to accomplish. Some can take twenty minutes and others may take a year. If you really want to achieve that goal then the time you put in will be worth it.
Having a competitor would probably be good too but isn't necessary. I find that is always motivating to have someone else who is trying to achieve the same thing that you are. It makes you want to work harder. I'm making up an imaginary friend to be my competitor who will ALWAYS one-up me so I will have to work harder all the time.
I'm also looking for a new hobby to keep me entertained. I've been thinking a lot about getting into photography. I like to take pictures of things so it may be a good fit. After I went to my sister's Girl Scout award ceremony I have been thinking about getting into cake decorating. If you are any good at either you can make some extra money ($$$).
