Career change?

I graduated in May and was hoping to find something related to my degree or related to what I want to do. You know, reporting, editing, or even a volunteer gig at the library - none of that has happened. I thought it might be easier than it is; I have a four year degree you know?

Well, my ambition, four year degree, and hours of job applications has not landed me one job offer yet. I've been on the hook of one for about a month now and that doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I decided that I need to have a job and be doing something until something else opens up. The area we live in is saturated with all jobs medical and computer science like. To get my foot in the door, I've decided to apply for pharmacy technician positions and might even go back to school for medical assisting! It's a little different than what I have been planning on, but at least I get to help people!

Since I'm not working I have plenty of time during the day to watch talk shows like Ellen, The New Ricki Lake Show, The Chew, and a few others. I can't remember which show I saw it on, but they were talking about starting over and "second lives" - for example, one woman had been married with a kid. She then got divorced later and her son went on to do his own thing, she had an empty nest and wanted to do something new so she enlisted and went to boot camp and is now a part of the military. I'm not going to be joining the military or anything later in life, but who says that I can't work now and have my dream job, or something close to my dream job, later in life?

So, for now, I am going to focus on saving up some money for our wedding next year and for paying off student loans. It may not be exactly what I want to do, but it kind of is in a way. I'll be giving back and be a part of a community.
