Lesson of the day: buy a fricken pool.
It's warmed up quite a bit in the last few days and by quite a bit I don't mean just five degrees. I mean 10-15 degrees and it's muggy outside. The humidity index is supposed to reach 100% today and it's 85 degrees outside. It's supposed to be the coolest day of the week.
Sounds like a week of swimming and air conditioning if you ask me. I have a friend with a pool and I get to see all the free movies I want at work where the A/C is nice and chilly.
Summer is supposed to be a happy time. There is no happy when it is hot and humid for a whole week.

Carpe diem.
Lesson of the day: you got to know where you want to be to get there. Not exactly, but you have to have some idea of where you want to be.
I have been job hunting for a little while now and realized that I don't really know where I want to be after all is said and done. I am finishing up my sophomore year of college and realize that I should start looking into jobs that pertain more to the career(s) that I want to pursue after college.
I feel as if I am wasting time and I sit and wait for that to change but it isn't going to change unless I get up off the couch and make it happen. I need to start taking action and not let opportunities slip away from me. I have let a perfectly good internship slip away, I have been the one deciding not to join any interesting clubs and I am the one who sits back and slacks.
In the last few weeks I have realized that no one is going to hand me the perfect job when I am done with college. I have to get my @$$ moving and take advantage of all that college has to offer me.
So I encourage you, any of you who read my blog to get up and take advantage of what is offered to you to get what you want.
Here is an encouraging inspirational video that may get you moving towards what you want. It's funny too.

Procrastination.
Lesson of the day: do not, I repeat, do not save assignments to the last possible time. I am in Art Today, the class that is supposed to be an easy A. It's only an easy A if you do all the assignments. None of them are that hard but they do take time.
We are supposed to attend a lecture series or a student art exhibition and go to an art exhibition at a museum. I have not been to the museum yet. It's due by 5 o clock on Monday the 3rd. Eek!
I don't have much time to do it and I don't think I will be getting it done. There goes 12.5% of my grade. Dang.
Another thing, I have been looking for a job for the summer in Duluth. I haven't been too lucky though. I only have two weeks left of school and about a month until my lease starts on the house. The end of the year has sneaked up on me and I am not prepared for it. Hopefully if I kick the job hunt into high gear it will get better and there will be good news.
Ah! I never really expected college to make me this stressed out but I guess nobody did tell me that it was a walk in the park.
